God will never allow anything to consume us. No sickness, no pain, no sorrow, no suffering neither can the storms and issues of life overtake us. No we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Even when we feel overwhelmed, in Christ Jesus we are more than overcomers. I want to encourage you, no temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. God is too faithful to fail us.
